The whole point of the game of blackjack is to make sure that the total points of your cards amounts to 21 or as close to 21 as possible. You need to beat the dealer without busting. A player would bust if the total points of their cards amounts to more than 21. Each face card is worth ten points and these would refer to all kings, queens and jacks that are dealt. The aces are worth one or eleven points. It would depend on which pint score is better for the player. All other cards are valued at what ever number is printed on them. For example, a two of clubs is worth two points.
The game starts by players placing their bets. The dealer will then deal 2 playing cards to every player, with the face up. The dealer is then also dealt two cards- one card would be placed face up and the other card face down. Players can then choose to be dealt another card or remain on the two that they currently have. The dealer would then reveal their card that was face down and either stay or take another card.
If a player’s total points are 21 or closer to 21 than that of the dealer, the player will win. If the player’s total points are further away from 21 than those of the dealer then the house would win the game and the player would lose.
